Why Downspouts Matter

A good gutter system needs a clear way out.

Gutters collect water. Downspouts carry it away. When an outlet is too small, clogged, damaged, or placed in the wrong spot, water can spill over the edge, pool near the foundation, wear away soil, or repeatedly wet fascia.

Our job is straightforward: look at how your roof sheds water, then give it a path that works in real Pacific Northwest rain.

Downspout Options

Two proven sizes. Matched to your roofline.

We look at roof area, gutter size, slope, valleys, and where water needs to go.

2×3 Corrugated Downspouts

A clean, dependable choice for many standard rooflines and typical 5-inch gutter runs.

  • A familiar, lower-profile look
  • Great for standard drainage needs
  • Available for new installs or replacements

Adding Or Replacing Downspouts

Fix the weak link—without replacing what still works.

Sometimes a full gutter replacement is right. Often, the drainage problem comes down to one overlooked outlet or a downspout that has taken a few too many hits.

New systems — planned around the way your home sheds rain.

Additional outlets — add a downspout where an existing run is handling too much.

Targeted replacements — replace damaged, detached, or leaking sections.

Better drainage — correct undersized downspouts and poor outlet placement.

Call (503) 308-1174
Should I use 2×3 or 3×4 downspouts?+

2×3 works well on many standard rooflines. We commonly recommend 3×4 where there is more roof area feeding an outlet, a steep roof, or 6-inch gutters.

Can you add a downspout to existing gutters?+

Yes. If your gutter run can handle it, we can add an outlet and downspout to help spread water more effectively across the roofline.

How many downspouts does my home need?+

It depends on roof layout, gutter length, valleys, pitch, and where water naturally collects. We assess placement and sizing during your free estimate.

Why does water overflow near my downspout?+

The outlet may be clogged, the downspout may be undersized or damaged, or one downspout may be handling too much water.

Can you replace only a damaged downspout?+

Absolutely. We can replace bent, detached, leaking, or dented downspouts and reconnect sections where the existing system is otherwise in good shape.

Do 6-inch gutters need 3×4 downspouts?+

They are often a practical pairing, especially on larger or steeper roof areas, but not every run needs the same setup.
