Oregon's Seamless Gutter Experts

Seamless Gutter Installation for Portland Metro & Columbia County

American Gutter Service installs custom seamless gutter systems built around the roofline in front of us—not a generic “average house.” We measure the roof, look at pitch and valleys, check the fascia, plan downspout locations, and form the gutter runs for your home.

Choose 5-inch or 6-inch K-style seamless gutters, new downspouts, optional gutter guards, fascia work and roof-edge flashing where needed.

What Seamless Means

Seamless Gutters Made for the Actual Roofline

A gutter system should do more than make a straight line along the fascia.

Before recommending a size or layout, we look at how much roof feeds each run, where valleys concentrate water, roof pitch, available outlet locations, downspout size, fascia condition and where the water needs to discharge.

Our seamless gutters are formed on-site in long continuous runs instead of being assembled from short sections. That reduces unnecessary joints along straight rooflines and lets us build the system around the measurements of the property.

  • Roof area, pitch and valleys inform gutter capacity.
  • Outlet and downspout locations are planned before installation.
  • The finished system is considered from roof edge to discharge.

The result is a cleaner roof edge and a drainage system planned as a whole—from the roof to the final downspout.

Sizing the System

5-Inch or 6-Inch Seamless Gutters?

Bigger is not automatically better. The right size depends on the roof.

Five-inch seamless gutters on a Portland, Oregon roofline
5-inch K-style

Common residential profile

$7.75/LF white

A clean, lower-profile option for many residential rooflines.

  • Custom seamless runs formed on-site
  • Often paired with 2×3 downspouts
  • Selected after reviewing the roof and runoff paths
White six-inch seamless gutter installed on an Oregon home
6-inch K-style

More room for concentrated runoff

$8.75/LF white

A higher-capacity profile useful for larger roof areas, steep pitches, long runs and roof valleys.

  • Extra capacity where roof conditions call for it
  • Often paired with 3×4 downspouts
  • Considered for larger or more complex rooflines

Recent St. Helens Installation

Investigating the roof edge before new metal goes up

That project is a useful example of why we inspect what is behind the old gutter instead of simply covering the problem with new metal.

  • 118 LF failed 5-inch gutter removed
  • 22 ft rotted fascia replaced
  • 118 ft 6-inch seamless gutter installed with hidden hangers
  • Three 3×4 downspouts installed
  • One funnel installed

Scappoose Seamless Replacement

Full system replacement with roof-edge inspection

A recent Scappoose project involved full gutter and downspout replacement with a black seamless system. The fascia boards and rafter tails were inspected before installation, new downspouts were fitted and the finished gutters were mounted with hidden hangers for a clean roof edge.

Installation Details

The Parts You Do Not See Matter

A gutter run works as part of a drainage system. The points of attachment, flow and discharge are all considered together.

01

Hidden Hangers

Heavy-duty hidden hangers secure the gutter while keeping the exterior face clean and uncluttered.

02

Pitch & Outlet Position

Pitch and outlet placement help move collected water toward the downspout instead of letting it sit along the run.

03

Mitres & Sealing

Where a run changes direction, mitres and other connections are fitted and professionally sealed.

04

Downspout Routing

Downspout size and routing are planned to carry water away from the roof edge on a clear drainage path.

Complete Drainage Design

2×3 or 3×4 Downspouts?

Downspout sizing is part of the roof and drainage design. The gutter collects water; the downspout needs to move it away. We consider the roof area feeding the run, the gutter size, outlet locations and the intended discharge path before recommending a size.

Explore Downspout Installation

2×3 corrugated downspout
$6.50/LF

Often paired with many standard residential gutter systems.

3×4 corrugated downspout
$7.00/LF

A higher-capacity option often paired with 6-inch gutters or larger roof areas.

Mounting Surfaces & Roof Edges

A Sound Surface for a New Gutter System

When an existing system comes down, it can reveal conditions that need attention before a new run is mounted.

What if the Fascia Behind the Old Gutter Is Rotten?

Gutters need a sound mounting surface. If we find deteriorated fascia, we show you the condition and explain the recommended repair before the new gutter covers the area.

Fascia replacement$10.00/LF · $250 minimum

Fascia painting: $5.00/LF; customer supplies paint.

Drip Edge and Gutter Flashing

Drip edge or gutter flashing can help guide roof-edge runoff toward the gutter and reduce water moving behind it. We recommend it when the condition calls for it rather than automatically adding it to every estimate.

Flashing when required$7.00/LF

Materials & Finishes

Aluminum, Premium Finishes and Real Copper

Aluminum is the primary seamless gutter material we install for residential projects. It is formed on-site for the required run lengths and is available in standard white and selected premium finishes.

Real copper gutter systems are available by custom estimate. We do not assign a generic price to a material that needs to be planned around the home and project scope.

Standard white, or a selected premium finish

Choose from selected colors when they suit the roof edge and exterior. Final selections can be confirmed with physical samples where appropriate.

Black
Bronze
Brown
Copper Metallic

Premium color upgrade: +$300/project

Copper Metallic is a color finish. It is not real copper.

Optional Gutter Protection

Add Gutter Guards While the New System Is Going Up

We do not recommend guards simply because we are installing gutters. Properties with heavy fir needles, leaves or other roof debris generally benefit more than open properties with little surrounding tree cover.

Easy Lock gutter protection$6.00/LF
LeafBlaster Pro$10.00/LFStainless-steel micro-mesh

We can discuss gutter protection in the context of the roofline and the type of debris the property actually sees.

The Installation Process

From Estimate to Finished Gutters

Each installation follows a straightforward path, with the drainage plan and roof-edge conditions considered before the new gutter system goes up.

  1. Inspect and Measure

We review the roofline, measurements, drainage concerns, gutter size, colors and available options.

  2. Plan the System

We map out gutter runs, outlets, downspout placement and any roof-edge work the condition calls for.

  3. Fabricate and Install

Seamless gutters are formed on-site, then installed with their required components and downspouts.

  4. Final Check

We review drainage, connections and the work area before the installation is complete.

Many straightforward residential installations can be completed in one working day. Larger rooflines, multiple structures, difficult access or fascia work may require additional time.

How much does seamless gutter installation cost?

White 5-inch K-style seamless gutters are $7.75/LF and white 6-inch K-style seamless gutters are $8.75/LF. The minimum installation project is $450. Your written estimate accounts for the roofline, footage, downspouts, corners, access, removal and any needed roof-edge work.

Should I get 5-inch or 6-inch gutters?

5-inch is a common residential profile and is often paired with 2×3 downspouts. 6-inch has more room for concentrated runoff and can be useful for larger roof areas, steep pitches, long runs and roof valleys; it is often paired with 3×4 downspouts. The right option depends on the roof.

Are seamless gutters completely seam-free?

Seamless gutters are formed in long continuous runs, which reduces unnecessary joints along straight rooflines. Connections are still needed at corners, outlets, end caps and other required components.

Do you fabricate gutters at the property?

Yes. After measuring the actual roofline, we form K-style seamless gutter runs on-site for the required lengths.

Can you remove my existing gutters?

Yes. Existing gutter removal is available at $1.00/LF when an old system needs to be taken down before replacement. Learn about gutter replacement.

What happens if you find rotten fascia?

We show you what we found and discuss the recommended work before covering the area with a new gutter. Fascia replacement is $10.00/LF with a $250 minimum; fascia painting is $5.00/LF when the customer supplies paint.

Do you install new downspouts too?

Yes. We install 2×3 corrugated downspouts at $6.50/LF and 3×4 corrugated downspouts at $7.00/LF. The size and routing are considered as part of the complete drainage design.

Can gutter guards be installed at the same time?

Yes, when they make sense for the roofline and the debris around the property. Easy Lock gutter protection is $6.00/LF, and LeafBlaster Pro stainless micro-mesh is $10.00/LF. Explore gutter guard installation.

Do you install real copper gutters?

Real copper gutter systems are available by custom estimate. Copper Metallic is a color finish and is not real copper.

How long does installation take?

Many straightforward residential installations can be completed in one working day. Larger rooflines, multiple structures, difficult access or fascia work may require additional time.
